The new Auburn Basketball Arena is a 243,792-sq-ft facility for the Auburn Tigers basketball team.
The new arena is located on the Auburn University campus northwest of the existing Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.
The 9,600-capacity arena has over 29,000 sq ft of student-athlete space, a two-court practice facility, men’s and women’s locker room suites with sports medicine facilities, a strength and conditioning center, lounges and meeting rooms, coaches offices, and 12 luxury suites on the arena level.
In addition to the athletic space, the facility has over 12,000 sq ft of banquet/entertainment space.
Constructing a large capacity basketball arena is a challenge within itself, but when integrating the needs and requests from the owner within the atmosphere of a hard bid project, the complexity is extremely intensified.
Success of the project soon began to show with its quality and punctual schedule. The owner, architect, contractor and subcontractors quickly established a good chemistry that allowed everyone to become comfortable with making changes in order to better suit the owner’s needs.
