Concrete & Aggregates Association of Louisiana held its annual convention in Destin, Fla., June 6-9 at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.
Guest Speakers & Topics included: “Economics of Ready Mix” by Gob Garbini with NRMCA; “Local Government Perspective” by Mike Futrell, COA, Baton Rouge, La.; LA DOTD Chief Engineer Richard Savoie; “DOTD Construction Section” by Brian Buckel, DOTD; “New Specs” by Luanna Cambas, DOTD; Tyson Rupnow; “Union Avoidance & Recent Litigation” by Murphy Foster with Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson; “Industry Economy” by Sydney Mays, an economist; and a DOTD rountable discussion.
CAAL also elected its 2010 chairman and board. In-coming 2010 chairman will be Joe Roche with Lafarge.
