BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) opened the price proposals on April 6 for the design-build project to continue the widening of Interstate 12 to Juban Road in Baton Rouge, La. Based on the previously evaluated technical score, now coupled with the proposed price and number of days, Gilchrist Construction Co. of Alexandria, La., has the lowest adjusted score subject to verification that all terms and conditions have been met.
This means that Gilchrist’s design-build proposal, at $36,240,000 and 604 days offers the best value for taxpayers. Three prospective design-builders submitted proposals for this project. The successful design-builder is determined by using a formula which is based on price, time and technical score. The budget for this project was capped at $37 million.
