Landis named certified green contractor by ABC

Landis Construction Co. LLC of New Orleans was named a Certified Green Contractor recently by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Landis is the first general contractor in Louisiana to receive this certification. In addition, there are only 11 contractors in the United States that are currently certified.

ABC’s Green Contractor Certification program recognizes construction companies that implement green practices and principles in the workplace, including headquarters, branch offices and jobsite office complexes. To achieve certification from ABC’s National Green Building Committee, Landis Construction submitted an application detailing its green efforts and underwent a third-party onsite assessment.

The Green Contractor Certification process involves a list of 13 prerequisites ranging from distributing documents electronically to establishing an aggressive recycling program.
