Before beginning construction, Fidelity Homestead sought a local architectural team specific to the region of the new branch, and the contractor was selected by the owner based on previous collaborations. The architectural design team and associated consultants worked hand in hand with the owner throughout the process to develop an appropriate solution. Holly & Smith was also involved throughout the entire construction process and worked directly with the contractor and construction team.

Holly & Smith’s organizational approach is studio based and each studio is fully responsible for its work effort from concept to completion. Principals and project architects work closely with a small group of employees ranging from interior designers, architects and interns. This structure promotes knowledge, understanding and ownership of services to its clients.
Construction techniques and design elements unique to the project can be found both on the interior and exterior of the building. An open mezzanine on the interior is accessible by a decorative stair constructed of clear sealed raw folded plate steel with cork covered treads.
The countertops utilized a combination of polished and thermal finish granite and interior millwork is crafted of eucalyptus wood chosen for its durability and sustainability. Glue laminated columns and beams are expressed throughout the building.
Rain chains are used to direct water flow from the downspouts into river stone filled, cast concrete catch basins and local vegetation was chosen for all landscape material. Solar shading methods include deep overhangs on all appropriate facades.
