Alabama
Golden & Associates Construction of Birmingham, Ala.,
recently announced five of its project managers graduated
Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Alabama Chapter's
first Future Leaders in Construction class.
Ryan Ferris, Marcial Mendez, Jason Prickett, Mike Smith and
Hugh Stewart were recognized recently at ABC's monthly luncheon
held at The Club in Birmingham.
The Future Leaders in Construction program was designed by
ABC's Vice President Jay Reed to give today's managers the
foundation for developing the appropriate values and beliefs
they will need to be the future leaders in the industry.
Graduates attended classes for six months led by key leaders
from the construction industry as well as professional instructors.
Golden & Associates Construction also recently received
ABC's Platinum Safety Training and Evaluation Process award.
The Safety Training and Evaluation Process was designed by
ABC to establish a unified approach for companies to develop
safety and loss prevention programs.
The platinum level award signifies the general contractor's
outstanding commitment and ongoing efforts in developing a
quality safety program.
Arkansas
The National Association of Women in Construction's Greater
Little Rock Chapter #12 of Little Rock, Ark., recently announced
the newly elected officers and directors for the 2005-2006
year. These women will take over leadership of the organization
in October.
The coming year's leadership will certainly need to work
diligently as the 2004-2005 year was highly successful for
the chapter. Officers will be President Frankie Rivers, AK
Builders; President-Elect Tracy Hayes, A/C Specialties; Vice
President JoAnn White, MAY Construction Co.; Treasurer Denise
Cunningham, Rector Phillips Morse; Corresponding Secretary
Jennifer Harrison, Cromwell Architects; and Recording Secretary
Mickey White, Baldwin & Shell Construction.
The Board of Directors will be comprised of Leah Peterson,
MAY Construction Co.; Karen Ross, PDC Cos.; Dena McCormick,
CDI Contractors; Donis Ford, IOMA; Cindy White, Whittenberg,
Delony & Davidson; and Kelly Gillihan, ASCO Hardware.
Joyce Lemons of Arkansas Fire Protection Licensing Board
will serve as Parliamentarian.
Tennessee
J.E. Crain & Son of Nashville, Tenn., recently announced
the following changes and additions.
Lewis Rankin is chief executive officer and will remain responsible
for the overall health and stability of J.E. Crain.
Michael Rankin is now president and will manage and direct
all operations of J.E. Crain.
Jim Pedigo is chief financial officer.
Kelly Smith has been promoted from project assistant to executive
assistant.
Tina Spence has joined J.E. Crain & Son as the new project
assistant.
