Renaissance designs prototype for green Germantown fire stations
Renaissance Group architectural/engineering firm has designed a new prototype that will be built to replace Germantown fire station #4 in Germantown, Tenn.

The new fire station will be brick and block, residential-style construction totaling approximately 14,500 sq ft.
There will be an eight-bunk room for three shifts, and a city training center for 50 persons. It will feature three apparatus bays for vehicles, emergency backup generator and Emergency 911 backup to primary 911 service.

“It should provide considerable energy cost savings in the future.”
Street Dixon Rick Architecture selected for Woodbury Library Design
Street Dixon Rick Architecture of Nashville was recently selected to design an addition and renovation to the Dr. and Mrs. W. F. Adams Memorial Library in Woodbury, Tenn., city officials announced recently.
The original library was constructed in 1964 after friends of the late Adams determined that a community library would be the best way to honor his service to the community.
Adams, a banker and physician, brought many new jobs to Woodbury through his visionary efforts in economic development.
“Street Dixon Rick’s team inspired us with its professionalism, creativity and ability to explain the entire process to our building committee,” said Angela Ott, Building Committee member.
“We are confident that our new library will be a beautiful, functional building. The biggest surprise so far is how enjoyable the design process is,” Ott said.
“We understand that libraries are important parts of the civic and cultural fabric in all communities, and we are pleased to have been chosen to lead the planning initiative at Woodbury,” said Baird Dixon, firm principal for Street Dixon Rick Architecture.
Community leaders hope to complete an addition and renovation that will more than double their existing facility.
This includes a new dedicated children’s library, a new technology area and expanded patron services.
Street Dixon Rick Architecture provides architecture, programming, master plans and interiors for universities and schools, churches, libraries and commercial projects such as offices and health and wellness centers.
