Lewis Group Architects to design St. Mary’s medical office building

The Lewis Group Architects, working with project developer Brinkman MDC of Charlottesville, Va., will be responsible for the design of a second medical office building at St. Mary’s North Emory Road Campus in Powell, Tenn.

The 79,000-sq-ft facility will provide a physical link between the hospital currently under construction and the existing Acute Care Center. The two medical office buildings will flank a new exterior healing garden.

The new building will house offices for physicians and clinical spaces to support the overall mission of St. Mary’s Emory Road facilities.

Bell builds three Tennessee school projects

Bell & Associates Construction LP of Brentwood, Tenn., will serve as the general contractor on three upcoming local school projects. The projects include additions to Rutland Road Elementary School and renovations for Stoner Creek Elementary School, both in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., along with Springfield High School in Springfield, Tenn.

The $2 million, 13,000-sq-ft addition to Rutland Road Elementary includes 12 new classrooms and site improvements. The $4 million renovations and additions to Stoner Creek Elementary include a 16,000-sq-ft gymnasium and infrastructure improvements that include converting the old gymnasium into new classrooms.

Springfield High School is a $17 million project that includes renovations and additions to existing classrooms, the cafeteria, theater, restrooms and the career technical center.

Hardaway to build Hendersonville library

The City of Hendersonville, Tenn., is in the design phase of a new 40,000-sq-ft public library that will be constructed by Hardaway Construction Corp. Everton Oglesby Architects and Hardaway Construction Corp. of Nashville have recently collaborated to design and prepared to construct this much needed new facility. 

The library will be located in the new Indian Lake Village Development and will provide state-of-the-art access to information while serving as a landmark for the city.

Grading work to prepare the building site is scheduled to begin this summer with a completion date of summer 2008.
