| The Lewis Group receives $20 million
renovation contract at UT The Tennessee State Building Commission
has chosen the joint venture of The Lewis Group Architects and Studio Four Design
to provide architectural services for the renovations and additions of the Brehm-McLeod
Building at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. Brehm-McLeod
is an existing 144,000-sq-ft Food Technologies and Animal Science Building on
the University of Tennessee campus. The $20 million project will include the addition
of office, laboratory and toilet facilities, as well as provide upgrades to the
existing agricultural arena laboratories, building systems, classrooms and offices

showcases 'best of the best' The Mid-Tennessee Chapter of Associated
Builders and Contractors showcased this year's award-winning projects at the 11th
Annual Awards of Excellence Banquet held Nov. 2 at The Factory in Franklin, Tenn.
More than 340 members and guests attended the celebration that honored
the "best of the best" projects built by Mid-Tennessee member contractors.
The owners and designers of each winning entry were also recognized at
this premier chapter event. Major sponsors of the event included major title sponsor
Tennessee Waste, platinum sponsors Frank E. Neal & Company, Enterprise Electric,
American Constructors, Bell Construction and Associates and other sponsoring companies. Frierson,
Southeast Venture build new DOL headquarters In April 2006, T. W.
Frierson partnered with Southeast Venture LLC to build a new headquarters for
the Tennessee Department of Labor in the Metro Center area. Southeast Venture
LLC Architecture provided the design for this 240,000-sq-ft project. The project
includes two four-story buildings joined by a four-story connector. The connector
will have a lobby on the first floor, a walkway on the second floor and office
space on the third and fourth floors. The four floors of each building
will be primarily open office space with some training rooms and enclosed offices.
There is also space for a future cafeteria. The facility is constructed
of conventional steel and will be finished with brick veneer and a glass curtainwall
system, as well as a 60 mil TPO membrane roof. Completion is expected in the Summer
2007. Contractor attends 'unique' groundbreaking
for new Gallatin medical campus Hardaway Construction Corp. of Nashville
attended a unique ground breaking (a soft blast of the earth) along with about
200 employees, dignitaries and friends of the Sumner Regional Health Systems,
for the start of construction of a new state-of-the-art $17 million dollar health
and wellness campus in Gallatin, Tenn. The goal of the campus is to keep
people healthy and out of the hospital by emphasizing wellness and prevention.
Once fully developed, the health and wellness center will provide customers a
one-stop location to receive all of their healthcare needs out of the traditional
hospital setting. The Healthplex is to be completed in the early part of
2008 and will measure 12,000 sq ft. |
