Healthcare Division of BE&K Building Group forms in Nashville

A group of senior healthcare construction executives have launched the healthcare headquarters of BE&K Building Group in Nashville, Tenn., the company announced recently.

Led by Burk Waugh, the group shares a combined industry experience of more than 165 years. Most recently with Bovis Lend Lease, many of the executives worked together at McDevitt & Street Co., a former Nashville company, more than two decades ago.

Together, they established a successful healthcare construction team.

"For this group, teaming with BE&K offered a chance to create a winning culture and a simple and more effective way to do business," Waugh said. "This is a people business. Our commitment will be to focus on our employees and also continue to direct our efforts toward growing long-term client relationships in the healthcare sector."

Waugh said his team will be responsible for more than $150 million in work annually.

"We'll grow with our clients," he added. "Our team will be deliberate and smart about growth. We want to remain as nimble, competitive and efficient as we possibly can. This model will facilitate that."

BE&K Building Group was formed under the guidance of Luther Cochrane, former chairman & CEO of Bovis Lend Lease and current chairman & CEO of BE&K Building Group.
