Lochinvar wins award at Nashville event

Lochinvar Corp. recently accepted the 2005 Excellence in Manufacturing Award from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Business Journal.

Lochinvar, a manufacturer of high-efficiency boilers, water heaters and pool heaters, is headquartered in Lebanon, Tenn.

"Lochinvar is the finest manufacturing operation I have ever seen for a company their size," said Edd Lancaster, former CEO of Milwaukee-based sign maker Everbright and one of the judges for this year's manufacturing awards. "Everything about them is top-notch."

Lochinvar won top honors in the Mid-Sized Company Category for manufacturers with 100 to 400 employees.

ABC announces seven top construction craftspersons in competition

Associated Builders and Contractors recently announced seven finalists in its Craft Professional of the Year competition. In the south central region, Ronnie G. White with The Trane Co. of Nashville, was announced as a finalist in the HVAC category.

One of these seven finalists will be chosen as ABC's Craft Professional of the Year this springs at ABC's National Convention in Orlando, Fla.

"This year the Craft Professional of the Year competition is very special as we are for the first time honoring the seven top craftspersons according to their construction craft," said Gary Roden, 2005 ABC national chairman and executive vice president and chief operating officer, AGUIRREcorporation of Dallas.

The 2005 Craft Professional of the Year will receive a new full-size pickup truck sponsored by Tradesman International.

In 2002, ABC initiated the Craft Professional of the Year awards program to recognize the individual who stands out each year as the industry's best. After evaluating a pool of outstanding ABC craft professionals from across the United States, a team of national judges selects seven Craft Professional of the Year finalists, from which the national Craft Professional of the Year is chosen.
