Barnhart Crane & Rigging garners industry awards

The Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) recently honored Memphis-based Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co. with the distinguished Rigging Job of the Year Award and the Transportation Group Fleet Safety Improvement Award.

Both SC&RA awards are part of annual ceremonies by the industry to recognize the best and safest companies in the crane and rigging industry.

Barnhart was also the recipient of the Associated General Contractors' Alabama chapter Safety Award for the heavy/industrial category for best safety record in 2002.

"Credit for these awards can be directly attributed to the hard work and determination of our employees, who led our company into a year of extraordinary growth and success in 2002," said Alan Barnhart, president, Barnhart Crane and Rigging.

In addition to winning the Rigging Job of the Year in the $150,000 to $750,000 category for their work at Alabama's Barry Steam Plant, Barnhart was the recipient of awards for its continuous improvement in fleet safety as well as its industry leading OSHA safety statistics.

Barnhart Crane and Rigging, established in 1969, is a leading national supplier of specialized heavy rigging and transportation solutions. The company, now with 13 locations across the United States, also provides crane services, machinery moving, and plant relocations, as well as project cargo logistics and heavy equipment storage at its 100-acre, 700,000-square-foot warehouse facility in Memphis, Tenn.
