Southaven Towne Center breaks ground

Ground was broken in late October on the new $177 million Southaven Towne Center, making it one of the largest facilities to begin construction in Mississippi in 2004.

The development is owned by CBL & Associates Properties of Tennessee.

Attending the groundbreaking were CBL representatives and representatives of the retailers that will be operating from the commercial site.

Southaven Towne Center will open in October and a Dillard's store will open in spring 2006.

Contech acquires Central Supply

CONTECH Construction Products Inc., a company in the civil engineering site solutions market, recently announced the acquisition of Central Supply Inc., a Hazlehurst, Miss., manufacturer of corrugated steel pipe.

The new company is now known as CONTECH/Central Supply and is a wholly owned subsidiary of CONTECH. Ellen James will remain as plant manager.

"We are pleased to add Central Supply to the CONTECH family of companies," said Patrick M. Harlow, president and chief executive officer of CONTECH.

With a sales force of more than 200 sales engineers and 45 manufacturing plants across the country, the acquisition strengthens CONTECH's ability to offer a full range of site development solutions.
