ASA of Mississippi captures Leonard Weiss Award

The American Subcontractors Association of Mississippi recently captured a national award during ASA's National Business Forum & Convention in New Orleans.

The Leonard A. Weiss Award for Excellence in Government Relations is named in honor of Weiss, who served in the New York State Legislature where he regularly championed subcontractor rights.

"The chapters and individuals that we honor have demonstrated excellence in their service to our construction industry, our association and our members," said ASA Task Force on Chapter Recognition Chairman Walt Bazan Jr., Bazan Painting Co., St. Louis, Mo. "If actions speak louder than words, their actions will culminate in the realization of ASA's vision of an improved business environment for the entire construction industry."

ASA's Achievement Awards are given out in three general categories: those recognizing individual accomplishments, those recognizing chapter accomplishments and those recognizing government and industry relations efforts.
