| Arkansas Chapter wins AGC
of America public relations award
The Arkansas Chapter of Associated General
Contractors has won a 2003 AGC of America Public Relations Award in the Community
Service Category for their Boys and Girls Club Teen Center project.
Winners were announced at the Aon Build America Awards dinner, part of AGC's 84th
annual convention, in Honolulu, Hawaii. "Many of the industry's
image challenges must be tackled at the chapter and local level," said AGC
of America President Larry Gaskins. "The public relations programs that we
honor tonight are some of the best examples of what AGC chapters are doing to
promote our members and the industry." Seven chapters were honored
with a chapter public relations award for Best Individual, Best Overall, Best
Community Service and Best Infrastructure Awareness campaigns. Winning projects
included extensive media exposure in all forms, covering efforts made to improve
the industry's image through various service projects, educational endeavors and
training for young constructors and students. The Arkansas Chapter of
AGC is a voluntary trade association of commercial general contracting firms,
specialty contractors and supply and service firms. The Arkansas Chapter was established
in 1934. Arkansas
