ABC President Jay Reed added, "This alliance will help ABC consciously improve career opportunities, sharing of mutual information that can help both groups as well as allow us to collectively promote women in the skilled trade."

Brasfield & Gorrie named contractor on convention complex skywalk
Brasfield & Gorrie LLC of Birmingham, Ala., was recently announced as the general contractor for the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex Skywalk and Exhibit Hall Renovations.
The $8 million-plus project broke ground in August and will consist of two exterior bridges and one enclosed interior walkway, connecting the Sheraton Hotel, North and South Exhibit Hall and the Arena. Interior corridor renovations will also be made to the North and South Hall meeting spaces.
These renovations and additions are all part of the BJCC's six-year, $52 million capital improvement project. With the new skywalk and corridor changes, occupants will be able to use internal access to get to meeting rooms and exhibit halls that originally only had access from the exterior of the building. This contributes to the BJCC's goal to attract more conventions and out-of-town guests. Brasfield & Gorrie is excited to be partnering with the BJCC and is eager to meet their client's goals.
The project is expected to be completed by July.
