| NAWIC Birmingham Chapter hosts banquet
The Greater Birmingham Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction hosted its annual Industry Appreciation Banquet on June 28 at The Club in Birmingham.
Awards given at the banquet were as follows: Employer of the Year, Deborah Williams of M. J. Harris Inc.; Member of the Year, Stephanie Crane of M. J. Harris Inc.; Rookie of the Year, Vernetta Greene of Brasfield and Gorrie.
The Industry Appreciation Banquet is an opportunity for the women in construction to show appreciation to their employers and the vendors that are involved in everyday business in the construction industry.
Kirkwood & Associates merge with KPS Group Inc.
Emory Kirkwood, architect and owner of Emory Kirkwood & Associates Architects Inc. of Birmingham, and Gray Plosser of KPS Group Inc. of Birmingham, recently announced the merger of Kirwood & Associates Architects Inc. architectural practice with that of KPS Group.
The Kirkwood firm has a history of more than 20 years serving clients in Birmingham and across Alabama including Auburn University, The Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center, The Jefferson County Board of Education and many others. A graduate of Auburn University School of Architecture and Fine Arts, Emory has served his profession and the community in numerous positions, including president of the Birmingham Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and chairman of the Birmingham Construction Board of Appeals. |
