Hoar Construction receives Southern Co. Triangle Award

Hoar Construction LLC of Birmingham was recently presented the Triangle Award for outstanding safety performance by Southern Co. 

The award is based on stringent requirements and is awarded to less than 4% of companies who have construction contracts with Southern Co. To be eligible for the award, a contractor must have completed at least 40,000 man-hours on a Southern Co. project site within the past year and have no recordable injuries, no missed work days due to accident or injury, and no OSHA citations. 

Hoar Construction has currently worked more than 1.4 million man-hours without a lost time accident.

Brasfield & Gorrie completes construction of Simon-Williamson Clinic

Brasfield & Gorrie has completed construction of the new Simon-Williamson Clinic.

The 100,000-sq-ft medical office building will offer internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, urology neurology, oncology, gastroenterology, ENT/audiology, diagnostic laboratory, imaging, endocrinology, infectious diseases, podiatry, diagnostic laboratory and imaging including nuclear medicine, CT and MRI. 

The facility was built as a design-build project by Inkana Development, Brasfield & Gorrie, Gresham Smith & Partners as architect, landscape architect and civil engineer, Whitaker Rawson as mechanical engineer and Sajjadieh Engineering Group as the electrical engineer. The construction cost was $16 million. 

Seretta begins expansion of Legacy warehouse

Seretta Construction Inc. of Apopka, Fla., has begun performing work on the Legacy Warehouse expansion in Vance, Ala. Seretta’s scope of work for the 200,000-sq-ft building includes foundations, slab on grade, tilt-up panels, truck paving and dolly pads. 

Seretta’s portion of the project began in January and is scheduled for completion this month.
