| Rust Constructors named one of
America's 10 safest companies Rust Constructors of Birmingham, Ala., a Washington
Group International subsidiary, has been named one of America's 10 safest companies
by Occupational Hazards, a magazine of safety, health and loss prevention.
It marks the third consecutive year that Washington Group or one of its
subsidiaries has been recognized by the magazine for its industry-leading safety
record, programs and commitment to providing a safe workplace for employees. Rust
Constructors is a full-service merit shop construction and maintenance company
that provides construction, construction management, construction consulting,
and plant services, including maintenance and small capital project support. "From
their top executives all the way down to the factory floor, the 10 companies selected
to be 2006 America's Safest Companies just plain 'get it,'" Occupational
Hazards Editor Sandy Smith said. "They get the importance of safety committees,
training, job-hazard analyses, audits, stop-work authority and management visibility.
And they get that safety is essential to business success." "Safety
is a driving force at Rust Constructors, as it is throughout Washington Group
International, and we have developed a culture that makes the safety of every
one of our employees the highest priority every day," said Stephen G. Hanks,
president and chief executive officer of Washington Group International. Washington
Group International was recognized as a "safest company" in 2004, and
its subsidiary, Washington Savannah River Company, was selected in 2005. |
