Caddell wins Build America award at AGC Convention

Associated General Contractors (AGC) and Aon Construction Services Group teamed up at AGC's 2005 annual convention in Las Vegas to present the Aon Build America Awards.

Caddell Construction Inc. of Montgomery, Ala., was one of 16 contractors nationwide to receive the award. The company was recognized for the D/B Conversion to Hypersonic/ Aerodynamic and Propulsion Test Unit at Arnold AFB in Tennessee.

The annual awards recognize and promote excellence in construction quality, uniqueness and innovation in individual projects completed by AGC members.

Yacht Club at Terry Cove tops out

The five-story, 20-unit Yacht Club at Terry Cove in Baldwin County, Ala., recently topped out. Interior and finish work is currently under way.

The project developer is Head Companies of Point Clear, Ala., and the general contractor is White-Spunner Construction Inc. of Mobile, Ala. Each unit offers 3,288-sq.-ft. single-level residences.

The project includes 35 private boat slips for vessels up to 75 ft. and will be completed in September.

Golden & Associates breaks ground on Spain Park athletic project

Golden & Associates Construction LLC of Birmingham, Ala., recently began constructing the Spain Park High School athletic facilities additions in Hoover, Ala.

The project will include a 14,403-sq.-ft. multipurpose facility, a 12,877-sq.-ft. building addition and a 2,604-sq.-ft. storage room. The multipurpose facility will be used by several Spain Park athletic teams and the building addition will house locker rooms, coaches' offices and a new weight room.

The multipurpose room will be completed in August and the entire project is scheduled to completed in early 2006.
