South Central Construction is pleased to present its list of Top Project Starts, which ranks projects by contract cost that broke ground in 2008.

Top Project Starts Economic downturn fails to deter big jobs

To accurately reflect the diversity of the five-state region’s construction markets, lists are arranged by Top 5 rankings in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Sources used to create the list include McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge; state economic development agencies; a comprehensive database of contractors and designers; back issues of South Central Construction; and various other sources. Every effort was made to obtain accurate and complete information, and the project information was verified with project owners and general contractors.

The projects that follow began their construction phase in 2008. Therefore, there may be sizable active projects that are not included in the list because they initiated construction prior to or after 2008.

South Central Construction would like to thank the companies and owners that cooperated in this annual effort.
