The largest specialty contractors to make the list were F. L. Crane & Sons Inc. of Fulton, Miss., with regional revenue of $71.7 million; followed by Yates Technical Group LLC of Tupelo, Miss; Ivey Mechanical Co. LLC of Kosciusko, Miss.; Stanley Jones Corp. of South Fulton, Tenn.; and Fountain Construction Co. Inc. of Jackson, Miss.

In the breakout rankings, the Top 5 electrical contractors were Yates Technical Group of Tupelo; Pan American Electric Inc. of Nashville, Tenn.; Marathon Electrical Contractors Inc. of Birmingham, Ala.; Massey Electric Co. of Alcoa, Tenn.; and IK Electric Co. of Little Rock, Ark.

The Top 5 mechanical contractors are Lee Co. of Franklin, Tenn.; Stanley Jones Corp of Birmingham, Ala.; Hardy Corp. of Birmingham; Ivey Mechanical Co. of Kosciusko, Miss.; and M&D Mechanical Contractors Inc. of Decatur, Ala.

To develop the ranking, South Central Construction mailed surveys to an exhaustive database of companies identified as potential top specialty contractors.

Sources used to create the ranking include McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge, various economic development agencies and construction associations, and back issues of Engineering News-Record and South Central Construction. Every effort was made to obtain accurate and complete company information, and the information was verified with contractors.

We would like to thank the companies, associations and individuals that assisted us in this effort. Without them, these rankings would not be possible.
